KMM-Kingman-AZ-Route-66-Powerhouse-Museum

A one-of-a-kind museum in Kingman’s Historic Powerhouse shows the history and evolution of travelers along the 35th parallel, which became known as the Mother Road. Photos, murals and other historical documents commemorate the various groups of people who braved the cross-continent journey from Native American trade routes, U.S. Army Surveyors, the first federally funded wagon train migration, and more.

The museum is housed in a historical building that provided light for the earliest travelers operated by Desert Power & Light Company. Residents consider this a “must see” for all visitors.
