Route 66 is a very popular tourist destination for visitors from all over the world. The last stretch of the Mother Road disappeared from “official” maps in 1985 when it was decommissioned as a federal highway. Yet the heart of historic Route 66 still beats strong in Kingman AZ where we see many visitors to this retro road. Many people come to Kingman to rent motorcycles for trips on this historic road.

A great opportunity is coming up in the New Year.

Starting at 8am Jan 2, 2017 is the 128th Tournament of Roses Parade held in Pasadena, California. The 2 hour parade follows a 5 1/2 mile route. A great short trip would be to drive a classic car or motorcycle to see this parade. It is only 4 hours and 56 min away. If that is too soon, plan your own tour of historic Route 66 to find your special spots.
