When you begin thinking of the open road and all of the adventure that awaits, do not forget about one of America’s greatest roads; Route 66. Known as “The Main Street of America”, this route has lead several musicians to create odes to this paved pathway. Artists including The Eagles and even the King Cole Trio have brought the magic of the famous road to radios all over the country.
From the early days of the traveler’s dream taking folks from Chicago all the way to Los Angeles, even today’s youth have a chance to look back at a time gone by. While the route has changed throughout the years, including being officially removed the from the U.S. highway system, rock n’ roll songs will forever allow those to reminisce of their traveling days and enable others to experience what it once was like..
